I know there has been quite a bit of harsh critics going around the fashion scene over Alexander Wang’s latest show for Spring/Summer 2010 during New York Fashion Week. My first reaction when I saw the line is that it appears a little monotonous and doesn’t bring the expected powerful Wang-vibe which were appointed at Wang’s previous collections. Wang cited "It's all about American heritage, classic looks, classic sportswear, all the things you do at school like football, sports and all those outdoor things like going camping." However the whole All-American sports enthusiast-cultured inspiration was the basic idea behind his collection but it wouldn’t be Wang hadn’t he not added an obvious naughty edge to his collection. All this is part of a witty take on American sports culture and moved the concept of sportswear into a whole new level. I am totally in love with the leopard-themed mules and those striped-zipper lace-up booties.
