Thrifted! | Vintage Shop

Have you ever been on a vintage hunt? The summer time is the best time to go out and check your local fleamarkets for hidden treasures. You can find nostalgic items from the past like a unique piece of furniture or a vintage art piece and mix them together with your modern living design. My today’s plan is to head out to a local fleamarket to find some vintage beauties.
This is one of my favourite ebay stores called “thrifted”, they sell amazing 80’s clothing, leaving me behind with the wish to just make a bid on all of these outfits, hmmmm. You can visit their store here.

1940s Glam | US Vogue & W Magazine September 09 Issues

It’s a true eye candy and pleasure for me to have two editorials featuring 40s glam this September.

The Us Vogue by Steven Meisel takes us two the world of the sophisticated upper-class lifestyle. This story revolves around women who indulge themselves in opulence and impeccable polish. It’s a wonderful editorial from those seductive silhouettes to those playful details, what’s there not to like about fashion from those bygone days?

The next editorial by the September issue of W Magazine dedicates itself towards a more flamboyant approach of the 40s era. Lara Stone, Guinevere van Seenus and Edita Vilkevicute spend a day out on a picnic and seductively enjoy themselves at the lake.

Styling Tips August

Styling-tips-august @Bette's Vintage Line

via whowhatwear

I couldn’t help myself but feature this wonderful post on my blog. I love all the styling examples of this one! As whowhatwear says you get six different girls with 6 different fashion tastes. And indeed all the shown fashion styles are widely ranged.  But how many women have just one style?  I would say that each woman has multiple styles, enough for six ‘women’. For example, I can easily see myself wearing the red shoulder accentuated jumpsuit one day while rocking Tip4 – using a trench – another day. There are only a few women that just regularly go by one style, that’s not to say there is anything wrong with that, but most of us do like to vary our styles and experiment with fashion to one degree or another.

Bette Davis

This one might seem to some you to be off-topic. Saying that for those in the know, with the current recession leaving its mark on fashion, there’s no doubt as to its relevance. Bette Davis, who is (quite obviously) my all time favourite actress (as well as the main inspiration behind my online persona), is definitely a great source of inspiration for myself and any of you interested in that sublime vintage look.
